Default Casual Friday at the North Pole....

Hi all! I started this one at the carving club on Saturday and spent most of the week holed up in the shop carving and painting on it. It's basswood about 7 inches tall. I think it's my best one to date. Anyway, here are some pics of it finished and in the nude and then painted. It's painted with acrylics & oil and then a doze of BLO followed by Satin Lacquer. Thanks for looking!

Corey

Hi Bob, I know it's been a while. I don't think I have ever enjoyed doing anything as much as carving. If I had my moms old rocking chair in the shop it would be great!! I have been practicing a lot... and I have gotten help from some very good carvers as well. I joined out local carving club and enjoy it a lot. Omaha has some very good carvers to learn from.

Thanks!

Corey

Hey Corey,

Nice work! You would make a good clothes designer

I think that one is about my favorite Santa so far.

You made a big mistake on the carving Corey. Harry doesn't have a beard...

Corey, I really didn't think it possible to get any better, but WOW this is THE best yet, I love the shirt and thanks for showing how I would look with a beard.
