Default Scottish Golfer Bust

Here is the last new piece I am doing for the show this coming weekend. I am really excited about the show. It will be fun. Anyone in the Omaha area the show is put on by our club

Mid America Woodcarvers Association
35th Annual Woodcarving Show
Sat October 31st, 10:00 to 6:00 PM
Sunday November 1st 10:00 to 4:00 PM

Anyway, this is a Scottish Golfer Bust. He is about 7 1/2 inches on the base. I turned the base out of some mahogany turning stock I had. Finished in acrylics, BLO and satin lacquer. I wish the pics had turned out better, I painted a blue plaid cap on him and it looks pretty cool. Anyway I am done, all burned out and my hands are sore from carving so many hours in the last month. Judging will take place tomorrow night at 5:00. We will see!

Brilliant Corey, even without arms it's obvious that he's a golfer! (I know, I know, it's a bust and busts don't have arms) it really IS brilliant.

Amazing work, I wonder just how many pieces have you done over the years? You are blessed to be able to carve like that!

Thanks all very much. Bob, those bases I did not make, well not the hard wood part. I buy those pretty cheap, imported hardwood. I can't make them for what I pay for them. The golfer bust base I did turn on the lathe and the Civil War bust I made that base as well. Thanks again guys. Looking forward to the show!

Corey
