Default Why Graphite Transfer Paper ?

I have been reading that graphite paper needs to be used for tracing patterns onto wood for burning. I have not purchased any yet and while I am waiting for my burner to arrive I tried experimenting with ordinary black carbon tracing paper that I had on hand. . I printed out a very basic outline pattern that I found on line and traced it on to a piece if BB plywood using ordinary carbon tracing paper and it seemed to work just fine.
Is the graphite transfer paper black on the bottom side like carbon paper is ? ?

My local stationery store is haveing a one day sale on everything in the store with scratch and win anywhere from 10 to 50 % on purchases tomorrow only . I will see what their transfer paper looks like . They have told me on the phone it is only called transfer paper and doesn't mention graphite. It is also quite expensive and sold by single sheets. So what should I look for when I go to town tomorrow to see it. Does it look quite different from ordinary carbon paper ?

I believe that the sheets may be bigger than others sheets, and make transferring patterns easier because of their size, they almost eliminate the mess you get when using carbon paper sheets to do the transfers.
Check Wood Craft, Prices are not bad. Information was listed on there web page.

Thanks .
I probably wont be doing anything bigger than 8.5 x 11 but those big sheets from Woodcraft could be cut down to that size.
I checked their site and like many other sitse they have free S/H . I think a lot of suppliers are having a hard time with the economy the way it is because we didn't use to see free S/H so much as we do now.

I will see what my local store has to offer tomorrow. I know it will be a lot higher price so will just get one sheet to try and then will probably get the package from Woodcraft unless someone here says it is not the best quality .
I have read where some seem to have preferences to different brand names for one reason or another. Sally's seems popular but I don't want to pay the S/H from there .
I'm not cheap . . . . I'm frugal

4'X8' sheet for $8. Comes as 2 - 2'X8" pieces.
Transfer Paper: MONSTER SIZE at WoodCraftPlans.com

.
Never, under any circumstances, combine a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night.
