Default Another Snowman Ornament...

Here is a different pattern snowman. This one is carved from a 2 x 2 x 3 3/4 stick. It was kind of a test for a larger one that I have now started from a 3 x 4 x 8 inch block. Pattern was originally designed for a relief carving but I decided to carve it in the round. Finished with acrylic paints and some flair pens, satin lacquer. Thanks for looking as always!

Hi Corey

Beautiful as usual, you must have the patience of a saint. The fine detail work of painting would do me in.

Now the down side ,,,,,,,, it reminds me how close Christmas is.

Great work Corey

Really beautiful Corey, make a few more and advertise them on e-bay as "unique Christmas gifts hand crafted by Corey of Iowa" You could be surprised by how much you get. Do you have a tree in your front garden that you could cut the top off and whittle away the trunk into an all year round Father Christmas?

Thanks Harry. I will try that in the future and open an Etsy Shop. It's like Ebay only for hand made items of all kinds. No trees to whittle on...lol.

I keep telling ya Corey, you are gonna become famous with this carving stuff, but you are not hearing me

Nice job on both the carving and paint job. Snowmen and Santas are among my favorites.

Very cool Corey. I have a fascination for carving. There is a local carving club I am thinking about going to and see what it's all about. Keep up the good work and congrats on your nice ornament. Paul

Idigjars, thanks! I would definitely check out your club if you are interested in carving. Carving clubs can take a lot of the pain out of carving for you and can be a lot of fun.
