Default The Deer Family

- decided to try a bandsaw reindeer this year. Made the larger one out of a chunk of an old cedar 2x4 I had lying about for a test. It turned out ok but I thought the wood was blah an it has some defects. So I picked up a chunk of Cebil which was a bit small for the full size pattern. So, I reduced the pattern and came up with the two smaller ones.

- when I finished <danish oil and buffing> I thought they looked pretty ordinary so I picked up some googly eyes <Michaels>, sprayed smaller googly eyes red for noses and had the wife make some 'collars' for them. One of the small ones is going to Iowa the other to California for xmas. The large one will live on a shelf over my workbench.

- I smile every time I look at it. Its funny ..............

The “eyes” have it. Sorry, couldn’t pass on that one. Well done.
