Exclamation International Sawdust Saturday May 26, 2012

May 26, 2012 James Wade is going to visit from Oz. I hope you will make plans to join us here in Detroit. If you would like to stay at a local hotel I will help with reservations. You will need to bring your safety glasses and hearing protection; wear work clothes. We will be demonstrating different products and jigs, testing Trends Tool & Bit cleaner, discussing different dust collection ideas and will have some accessories on hand for you to evaluate. Insurance regulations prohibit this from being the hands on woodworking event we hoped for but I am sure everyone will learn new things. The list of door prizes has grown and there will be some free plans and information sheets linking to the forums for assistance. I hope you can join us there!

Woo-Hoo! This could be a lot of fun! I have a friend at Baraga in the UP that does beautiful cabinet work and custom designs that I could get to come down and then follow him back up and stay for a few months, learning everything I can!

For right now, I'll have to RSVP: Maybe, depends on the health of the LOML's parents, but I really want to go!

Saturday May 26, 2012 is the date, Woodcraft in Sterling Heights Michigan is the place for our first "International Sawdust Saturday." I am working on the program now and will post updates. Plan on wearing work clothes, bring your safety glasses and hearing protection. This is not like wood shows where you stand around and watch; we will be making sawdust.

Hi Mike,
I live in So.Cal. but I've been to that WoodCraft when I was there working on a movie in 2008. I can remember because I received a speeding ticket after I left the store. The Sterling Heights PD even had a Corvette as a promotions vehicle.

Have a nice & safe day!

Derek, you have to make them happen. I am sure there are woodworking clubs near you; talk with them about this. The local forum members have a great time when we get together.

Oh!!! I know that, I have made enquiries through u/k forums, but a few things go on up North, nothing around my way, I have organised meet-ups at home with a few peope, but it is a bit thin on the ground.

Warren, perhaps you can make the trip up to join us for this? If not at least you can follow this thread for ideas on planning your own down there.
