Default Wedding Gift Sign

Just laid out a sign for the son of a life long friend who's getting married in December. I've known and coached this young man in sports since he was 5 with his Dad.

As simple as it is.....making this one has me nervous. Gotta make it PERFECT for them. That's why I'm starting it in October......time for remakes if needed.

This is Red Oak, a full 1" thick that was finished on both faces, rough sawn on the edges. It will have inset letters and flat background.

This is a serving board/sign I made for my son and his new wife in February. I used walnut and maple.

I'm betting on an awesome sign. Impatiently waiting to see the finished product.

Thanks Richard.

I plan on finishing the Tennessee shaped "Kreuter" sign for my customer tomorrow. I need to get that one shipped as soon as I can.

Sorry to say, but that is a sign order that "fell through the crack".....meaning I forgot to make it!!! He called me almost 2 months after it was due asking about it. I'm knocking $10 off the cost and paying for the shipping as restitution.

Lesson learned.......gotta be better organized!

Now that the carving for the wedding gift sign is done, I can breathe a little easier. I'm glad it's carved......

They look great, Frank. I haven't seen that font that you used on the Kreuter's sign. What is that?

Thanks Jim.

The font is called "Outrun Future" and I got it at DaFont - Download fonts. It was fun to carve. It's one I would recommend using an SC50 bit on. Some of the trimmings of the letters are pretty small and detailed. But it was easier to carve than I expected.

Here's a link to it: outrun future - Search - dafont.com

I get a lot of fonts off this site. Have never had a problem, bugs, spam, etc.....
