Default MEBCWD Mike Stain Pictures

Mike I talked to my friend Rob and he gave me permission to post the pictures I was telling you about where he uses different stains on the same sign and looks awesome the way it turns out with the grain still visible.

You get the color and still get to see the grain ... Win Win!

Yeah, Mike. But you still can't color outside the lines!

That makes for some ideas

Don' need no steenkin' CNC. Nice job.

On the few occasions I want to use stain, I don't use stain.

What I do use is thinned latex paint, maybe ten to one. You can custom mix any color you want, and thinned right you can easily see the grain- in fact it looks like that is the actual color of the wood, and I know for a fact that it will last a lonnnng time. Left a test piece outside, on the ground, by accident actually, and when I found it over a year later, was in fantastic concition.
