Default Milescraft 1212 Sign Pro

Anyone using a Milescraft 1212 Sign Pro kit? Wondering if it would be a worth while purchase. Think I'll try free hand first and if that doesn't pan out may get a guide kit of some sort. What is the favorite sign guide kit on here?

What is the favorite method of applying a pattern to wood for a free hand sign?

Hi Bob;

I have the Milescraft 1212 Sign Pro kit and now do almost all of my signs freehand. If you like the font and the 2 sizes of lettering that Milescraft provides and plan to do most of your signs with what they supply and or do the same sign multiple times then yes it's worth getting the Milescraft kit.

There are several methods to transfer the image on to wood. I use the basic carbon paper method and it does well for me.

Thanks MARCO, I was thinking about trying the carbon paper route 1st. Just wondering if there was anything better. All I have is a ink jet printer.

Hi BOB.
I have one of these and there alright but you do need to bolt the thing down and not easy on certain size boards. What happens is the router will slip and cut through the template letters which is plastic also if you don't buy the brass insert guides then the heat from the bit melts the plastic bad design but alright for straight letters and you can finish them off with a freehand router.
Would I have bought one if I knew this Answer NO.
