What a low down, dirty trick.

That's the Corafoam by Duna. You can actually do the cut in one pass - unlike wood (especially hardwoods) where multiple passes are required. No knots, splits, cracks, or laminating. All useable material, paints great, and reduced cut times. But, as you can guess, it ain't real cheap.

In fact, I got a bunch in (3/4 and 1") and will sell some at cost plus shipping. Had to order 8 sheets to make it worthwhile shipping it here.

Besides, Rick, you know you have to be nudged a little (ok - pushed a lot) to stay focused.

End user 'heads up'...
The foams are not durable. They deteriorate under UV and weather, paint doesn't seem to protect it (better than not painting, mind you!)
The stuff looks like somebody or something has been chewing on it.

Dan,

This stuff isn't like Signfoam. It's denser and made for the petro-chemical industry. Kind of found the sign market by accident. I wouldn't use the other foam stuff, but giving this a shot. Most all the pros are using it for the big carved custom business signs.

Just like wood, it should be refinished every few years.

I guess time will tell.

I'll be interested to see, John. Other than being light weight, that older style sign foam doesn't have many redeeming qualities.
This Corafoam, what's the pricing like?

Never mind...My friend, Google found it: (Canadian source...mind you, shipping will cost a bit)
High Density Urethane Corafoam Substrate
Sounds like a great product. The specs make it sound like it'll outlast granite.
