Default Mark forums read feature.

I recently joined this forum. I created a shortcut to the forum that gets me the new or unread threads. I looked all for a 'Mark Forums Read' link like on most other forums I follow. Finally found it on the 'Forums' page. Can a 'Mark Forums Read' function be added so that its more readily available? I check the new posts, read what interests me and when finished, I like to mark the forum read so when I return I see only what has been posted since I last visited.

tools > quick links > mark forums read....
a tab like you are asking for in the header has been asked for a time or several in the past....
it'd be nice but don't hold your breath...

This would have been the week that I'd have finished chewing thru the restraints...
If only new layers hadn't been added....

I think we could get the "Mark All Forums Read" added to the New Posts page, but I'd have to check with tech first.

Currently, the system is set up that if you leave your account inactive for a few hours after you sign in, all threads from that login session will be marked as read, so the feature is built in sort of already, though not the way you are describing.

If others express interest, I can put a request in

I personally prefer to use the Classic version of the forum. When I click on View Today's Posts any that have new replies or new threads show in bold print and any that haven't any new replies show in normal print. That allows me to see what has had any activity since I was last checking the forum.
Semipro and Woiim like this.

Someone I consider a master woodworker once told me that a master woodworker is not someone who never makes mistakes. He is someone who is able to cover them up so that no one can tell.
