Default Intro posts

Notwithstanding the sticky "New members please read" post here, a lot of people don't see it, and post questions embedded within their introduction post.

I'm wondering if it would help to include a link to the "please read" post in the text of the registration forms, so new members have some guidance before posting?

Great idea, I could include it into the "Welcome" private message or even the "Registration Complete" page. I was considering fixing that page up recently, but I like your idea.

Remember some people pose questions to see if people are really reading their posts. An to get feed back.

This is true John but for the most part people never bother to read the instructions with tools or web sites. Both Dr Zook and I modified our signature lines to help people get the idea and even that doesn't always work. If there is anything worse it must be the members who don't bother to post at all. Questions cause us to rethink our answers... to look for the grain of universal understanding and then share our responses. New ideas come when everyone takes an active part of the discussion. Answering questions has helped to clarify some routing techniques in my own mind. Keep posting and help make this forum the best on the web.
