Default Picture show in wrong order...

When I post multiple pictures, they often show up in a different order than I added them to the add here box. Really annoying. Is there some way to change the order? I've looked for a way, but can't find one. I often write instructional stuff and add original artwork, so being out of sequence just doesn't work so well. Can I rearrage them myself?

I'd really like to mix the pictures with text, but have no idea if or how that can be done. It would really enhance instructional posts. I do take my contributor status seriously--gotta pass this on to others.

Tom, to mix pictures with text just quit typing and post your picture then start back with text. I hope this is what you are talking about.

Do you do your posts in Advanced? If so then just use the paper clip dropdown and click on the image you want inserted where your cursor is at the time. That's what I do and mine all go right where I want them.

I use Irfanview to add numbers to the pictures in case the forum mixes them. That way you can refer to them by number in your text.

Someone I consider a master woodworker once told me that a master woodworker is not someone who never makes mistakes. He is someone who is able to cover them up so that no one can tell.

Yeah, when I need them in a particular order, such tutorials, I either number the file names or name them accordingly so that I can insert them where needed.

Tom, I often have need to post "how to" photos about my concrete formwork to customers.

My first line of text always tells them the photo number...

When I'm going to post a photo-shoot I bring each shot into "Paint.com" a FREE program. Here I add text onto the photo and save it in a folder. When all the shots have been processed I go to MS Word and load them one at a time, finally I go to "save as" and click on "as a pdf".
The first pdf shows how the text appeared early on "till I learned to do it as in the second pdf.

@harrysin , I've noticed that you have done this.
@Cherryville Chuck , I use Irfanview but forget about adding text. For many of my simple illustrations, I use draw in Word, the capture in Irfanview. That would be a good idea. I usually write the text, then add the illustrations.
@hawkeye10 , Let me try that

Should be a pix of an old miter saw here if your method works
@Cricket , I suspect the numbering with 2-3 digits before the file name is what I'll wind up doing.
