I usually get a bunch, all sent at the same time, around 12:30 AM on Mondays, listing the threads I'm "subscribed to - guess that means the ones I posted to that past week - but nothing during the week.

I can't respond to these, so I just delete them before going to the forums, which I do almost daily.

I wish there was a way to check a box in my profile if I wanted to receive them, or not check it if I didn't want to receive them. Mine would go un-checked.

Charley you should be able to stop that by going to your Account Settings (top right corner below your user name in the Classic version) and then out of the menu on the left side of screen click on Edit Options in the Account Settings and Options section and go to Default Thread Subscription Mode and click on Do Not Subscribe in the menu box on the right. That should end the emails. I had to stop them years ago. I was also getting way too many emails and I was on the forum regularly anyway so I didn't need to see them.

Someone I consider a master woodworker once told me that a master woodworker is not someone who never makes mistakes. He is someone who is able to cover them up so that no one can tell.

My general advice for anyone who is getting a ton of junk mail is to unsubscribe to all commercial email when you get the first one from that company. Anything important you will get anyway because they are required to by law. I don't know how you access your email, but I prefer Google strictly because they do some of the best spam and malware filtering there is. Even if you use something else other than Google, I suggest getting a Gmail account and adding your email into Gmail. This way Google will at least be filtering out the junk. They also put stuff into folders that make sense. If you have special needs you can make your own folders inside Gmail. If you download your email into a program like Outlook, look into other programs like Thunderbird. If you are an Apple person, That's fine.
I personally gave up downloading email years ago and live on the web. As far as privacy goes, I trust Google mostly but keep a close watch on all my settings. Every 6 months or so I do a security checkup in my account settings.
