Never thought it would come down to installing an ad blocker , but so far it works

This site is clean so far for me, but not another site. I never get these with my adblockers running. But yesterday I started getting a transparent greenish screen with garden Gnomes being shown covering the screen, I could still see the screen behind but it was hard to read.
I right clicked on the screen and a window popped up wanting to know if I wanted to block that screen. I clicked yes and the screen went away. The next time I logged onto that site the same thing happened and I had to do the same thing twice to get rid of it, but I never went back to that site to see if it still comes up.
