Cricket told me to say that.
Dunno if it will help, but I can hold down the control button, then hit the - button, and it will make my page smaller. I am taking it for granted that your computer will do the same, just not sure if it will help or not. Punching the + button while holding down the control button will enlarge it. I had a similar problem on another forum, and that did help me. Good luck.

It will be what it will be. I have an app I built originally in what is now an old version of the software, It just doesn't run right on win 7 or 10. Had to have someone upgrade it ($5000). So I understand the need to update the platform.

I find it amusing that the current formats online are all identical to a 1950s book on ad layouts. Everything old is new again when media changes.

The more I do, the less I accomplish.

@Cricket

I just reviewed 2 forum posts that blow up on my iPad (your new software announcement and the one by outofthewoodwork re CNC) on my W10 based PC and both threads were easily read just as they should be. So, there is something in some threads that cause the iPad to blow the text . One point, did you by chance type your message in word or some other editor and then copy it into the forum thread? If so it may well be carrying a marker that the iPad doesn't like.

Just a thought, thanks in advance.

Jon

I don't think it can be the site. Looks fine on my iPad Pro, for good measure fired up my old iPad 3. No problems.

@Biagio

The majority of threads do not present any problems at all on my iPad. It is just a select few that blow up and they do so every time I try to open them. When I open those same threads on my W10 notebook, no problems. Very strange.

@JFPNCM ,
I obviously did not see your PM, but Cricket's message was/is not distorted on my machines.

However, I did have a temporary weird experience yesterday: I usually cc myself on work emails, to make sure the address is not wrong or some other snafu. A couple of my emails generated on my POP account, were declared not readable in Apple Mail on iPad. As a result, I bombarded a hapless colleague with multiple re-writes of the same message. Then suddenly, it was all OK again.

Reminds me of when I worked at IBM in the late 90s. Somebody proposed an alternative message to the standard error dialogue in Windows.
It was in the form of a haiku (Japanese 17-syllable poem):

Yesterday it was working
Today it is not
Software is like that

@Cricket

I may have found the issue. A setting in Safari automatically used a "reader page" for the router forum. I deselected that item and can now read the posts that were blowing up before. More importantly the change did not impact other threads. So, watch this space.

Jon
MEBCWD and Cricket like this.
