Default Discouraged with this forum

I've only been a member for a few days, and already I'm discouraged with trying to post anything on this forum. I can't explain anything using a picture, or a link to anything else. I joined this forum because I was looking for some specific information on router templates and specialised bits, but it appears I have to post a bunch of drivel before I am allowed to start creating any meaningful posts.

I've never run into this on any of the other technical forums where I am a member. Has there been many problems here with spam in the past? Surely there must be more efficient ways of dealing with this.

Yes I know exactly what you mean, a few days after I joined I tried to post pictures of the router table i built but didn't have the required post count up and still don't.

Bill, may I respectfully suggest that you ask for a refund of your membership fees.

I see your humor about the membership fees, but it kind of feels like having a flat tire on a country road, but not being allowed to utilize a jack or lug wrench to resolve the situation.

By the way, in reading I see we share a similar technical background.

I believe that the requirement is to make 10 posts before attachments can be added to the posts. A little frustrating but have patience.

Stick with it Bill. We're actually a bunch of nice blokes when you give us a chance You can ask any question you want without trying to post pics. All it takes is 10 posts to show photos and you're nearly there as we speak.

Pete
I've cut it twice and it's still too short! But only at one end.

Any forum worth being on the I-net has restrictions. Administrators MUST have these in place or things ramp up very quickly.
The idea behind a 10 post requirement is a sound one. It's function is for you, us, and especially the Admin. to get to know each other.

You can post photos on a file hosting website, and put a link here.

You need only 1 more post and then you will be OK.

FWIW I subscribe to several groups which have been spamed and so I support the 10 post limit. It does help and is no big problem.

The 10 post limit didn't bother me that much, it's doesn't take that long, plus as metioned above you can post a link to your picture on a picture hosting site.

Great bunch here, lot of good help and information; just keep posting your almost there.
