I've already made efforts to remove them from the "spotlight", considering some members of the community still enjoy enjoy them, I don't think it's fair to remove them. I'm willing to take feedback on the matter, as long as people aren't being selfish and that the feedback is considerate of others.

maybe more serious members will speak up!

any of our members want to see the wordgames voted out???

Again, I'm open to reading valid reasons for the remove. Simply stating "I don't like them", isn't valid, nor is "This is a woodworking forum", by that logic, I'd have to eliminate the Lobby as well.

one valid reason is it muddys the water and makes serious members wade through tons of unnecessary junk.

often serious members want to view the lobby, but dont want to see " one two buckle my shoe"

i would really like to know why we want it????

i look at the word games and just never see anyone posting on it that ever posts a relative post about routers.

thats just what ive observed when i looked in.

this is in no way a criticism of Mark or the team.

its just my opinion.

please members let your opinion be known!

I'm confused. I don't see how people need to "wade through unnecessary junk". I fixed that problem when I removed the Word Games posts from all "Today's Posts" "Unanswered Posts" and "New Posts" links on the forum. The only place people will see any Word Game related discussions is in the actual Word Games forum.

Or did I miss something levon?

I know I am new here, and my opinion will hold little merit, but I still have one anyway.

I see absolutely no harm in those word threads. Very simply, if you don't want anything to do with them, just don't go there. They are not hurting anybody, and some folks are obviously having fun.

Mark, I really think it was a wonderful thing you did pulling them from the 'New Posts' list. That was about the only way they affected those who only wish to use this site for its main intended use.

Many of the Lobby (Off Topic) threads can be indirectly pertinent to what we are mainly here for. I have never even looked in on one of the word games, nor do I care to.

Mark, you cant check out the loby without wading through it.\

but thats just my thoughts.
im just an old timer that is 60 years old.

im not a college graduate. just an average working man.

maybe if i had more education i could figure a way to check out the lobby without having to duck wordgames.

again, i have no problems with you or the team, i hope you dont with me??

i think a lot of members have problems with wordgames, but thats just my opinion.

One consideration I can look for is an additional option on the "Edit Options" page where you can specify to not participate in the word games. By default, it will be "Yes", meaning the sub-forum will be visible. Although, if you select "No", then they will disappear including the sub-forum listing and all post updates.

This is a possibility, I'll look into it over the next while and I'll post back if it is possible to implement (more-so, easily implemented).

This 61 year old, older timer, has no problem with them. I even add to them at times.
