Default Attachments New Look

I changed how the attachments are presented in threads, I'm just trying it out for now, I'd like for you guys to let me know what you think. If the overall opinion is "I hate it" we'll revert back to the old. Anyway, let me know.

An example of the new look can be seen below.

Also, here is an example of a thread that has a lot of attachments: http://www.routerforums.com/guide-bu...beginners.html

Perhaps if you gave an example with more that one attachment, I could see what you meant.

I clicked on the attachment expecting to open a window with several images in the window......

I linked a thread in my first post. This thread shows what the new look is with multiple attachments.

I like it, how many attachments can one have with the new look?

I didn't change anything with the upload permissions so it should be exactly the same. If I remember correctly it's either based off of the file sizes combined, or the number of attachments (whichever comes first), either way I think the combined total is ~15 MB, and the total number is around 20.

Mark, your link goes to a brilliant thread, but I can't see any difference to how it was, perhaps for my poor memory changes need to be MAJOR! I therefore think it's just fine.

Mark..

nice clean look...

perhaps give the OP an opportunity to 'name' the gallery rather than just titling it "attached thumbnails"'?

Limiting the number of characters available in the name...just to keep it neat and easy

would it be possible to present the attachments in a "slide show" type format? Similar to what SMC does in their classified thread.

Since many don't have the ability to 'caption' their thumbnails, would it be possible to add a brief description to each thumbnail? ie: when the thumbnail is opened a (not sure what it is called) header/paragraph would be attached describing what the picture represents. This would be extremely unique! But not even sure its possible...

How about the ability to view all thumbnails 'within" a thread with a single click?

On closer inspection , I can see the new look in Harry's thread.

Apart from the 'box', I cannot see any difference????
