Default I don't have a clue

as to why I would receive a pm with the below quote.

"Thank you for contacting us. This is an automated response confirming the receipt of your ticket. One of our staff members will get back to you as soon as possible. For your records, the details of the ticket are listed below. When replying, please make sure that the ticket ID is kept in the subject line to ensure that your replies are tracked appropriately".

This sounds like a variation of a theme of scam emails I get frequently. Sometimes the message is "Your ACS transaction did not go through." Sometimes it is about an order or such I never placed. The key is to NEVER click the attached link. It is when you click the link that they are able to capture information. If you think it is from a valid transaction, go the company website and into your account how you normally would and check there. I often bounce the message back to the sender so it appears that my email address is invalid. Generally the bounced message comes back to me showing the address of the original sender was invalid. Hey Robert..

This is the first time I've even heard of anything like this. Quite interesting for sure. Obviously something you would not want to respond to!!! Send "Nathan" a pm with the details. I'm sure he'll get ya some answers...

An email, I would understand as they are commonly hacked but a PM?

Maybe the forum team should advise how this is possible?

Is this a PM here at routerforums.com? Forward to an Admin if so. Maybe someone hacked an account or signed up to send PMs like this.

  • Accident free since 10/27/12 at 3:58 pm.
  • Cursing free since 10/27/12 at 3:59 pm.
  • ...it happened in Everett, WA USA

Robert, please forward the PM to me so I can investigate.

Robert, there was a programming error, just disregard the PM. Let me know if it happens again.

Robert, on further research you got a PM and clicked on the reply to message link instead of the link to the PM. This caused the system to generate the Message you got. If you go to your private messages you will find the PM that started this.

I've found that with 50/50 odds I'll miss it 90 percent of the time.

Why a web site would be set up where wrong answers could be clicked on is beyond me. This whole thing of a programming error seems strange to me.

Maybe I can solve any future problems by not receiving any private messages if I can determine how to do that by clicking or un-clicking on something somewhere.

I am not sure why this is happening Robert. I have messaged Nathan about it and the tech guys seem to be having problems working with our software. Did you get another message?
