Default How to re-use attachments?

Suppose I have an picture I attached to a post, and then want to attach that same picture to another post on a different thread. Is there a way to do that? If so, how?

Hi Chris.

That depends if you posted a URL link to the picture or had the picture on you HD.

If you haver the picture on your HD, the easiest way is to just add the attachment to the new post from the original source.
I do that often.

You can also view the picture in your first post. It will have a caption "View original size:click here" click on the caption to show the full size picture. Right click on the full sized picture and you will have an option to "Save image as...". You can resave the image on your HD.

Chris, dead easy.

Just right click on the picture (embedded or attached, makes no difference) and click on 'Copy Image Location' or whatever it says on your browser. I don't use Internet Exploder so not sure what it's specific wording is.

Then in your new post, click on the Picture Icon (square yellow thingie that looks like a post card) and paste the previously copied link ('ctrl + v' or right click and 'paste').

Hope this helps.

I am hoping there is a way to tell the forum to include a picture I have already uploaded and attached to a diffferent post.

James, that would work OK, but wouldn't it result in the same image being stored twice in your attachments list?

Hilton, I think you mean, "Copy shortcut". Let me try it ...

Hi Chris,

I am not sure if the image would be stored twice in your attachments list. It may well be.

Thanks Hilton,

We all learned something new today.

If you don't remember where you posted the pic, go to Account Settings in the left menu bar.
Then to Attachments on the bottom of that left menu.
Then to the bottom of that to View Thumbnails.
If you have almost 800 of them as I do, you might have some searching to do.

Hi

I use the upload item we all have on a every post to find the one I want to use, then just copy and paste the item.. I wish sometimes I only had 800 but I have

" Attachment Statistics
You are currently using 837.94 MB to store 11,665 uploaded attachments. "
and yes you will sometimes have two or more in your attachments/uploads of the same item,it's saved the file name and the date it was posted..
