Default Is It Just Me.... ????

If my wood working was no better than finding things on the internet, I'd give it up and take up needle point, what ever that is, I just heard that term someplace.

It just drives me nuts, and I'm wondering if it is just me. I just tried to find info about how to send my Dewalt planer in for service and repair. I can't find this infor, I get led from one window to another about buying new Dewalt tools. This was or is after clicking on getting the planer repaired. It is just frustrating to me and wondered if anybody else has found this to be true for them and if anybody has any suggestions about how to contact, in person by phone, somebody to talk to about this matter.

One frustrated woodworker,

Jerry

Phil, the zip is 79512. I did find the Home Page for Dewalt's factory outlet, but all I get there is a way to e-mail somebody and I probably will eventually get a reply from somebody. Phone numbers are apparently a no no, these days that we live in unless you want to spend some money. I am thinking that the cost of sending to a repair center and the back to me might be about as much as the cost of a new machine. I have had thee planer for about two years, so if the planer cost $400 the monthly cost of having a planer in the shop would be about $16 a month, might be less if I just run it till it breaks and of course nobody knows how long that would be, but I am about to come to that conclusion but will wait for more infor, but thanks so much for you interest in helping me, I will say that your offer does not come as a surprise, you have always been so willing to help which is one of the benefits of this priceless forum. Thanks again, Jerry

glad to see it got worked out, but i have a similar complaint. when i try to look for something specific, i always get millions of results that have almost nothing to do with that i am looking for. and it's not just google, it pretty much the same no matter what search engine i use.

frustrating

Trying to get results from Sears website(s) does the same thing to me. Jerry did you check the Yellow Pages? For example, there is a repair shop in Vernon, BC, population about 40 thou, that is authorized (warranty wise that is) to fix just about any major manufacturer's machine even though they aren't an official rep for almost any of them. That might save you some mileage.

Someone I consider a master woodworker once told me that a master woodworker is not someone who never makes mistakes. He is someone who is able to cover them up so that no one can tell.

Well if you had a reason to come to Houston, there are several including a Factory Service Center on West Little York.
