Default Please Read- Reminder of our Policy on Membership Advertising

There are "Router Forum" policies prohibiting members from advertising for personal gain and prohibiting members from posting links for that same purpose. The Terms of Service of membership supports those same policies.

One reason for this is to prevent Spammers from deluging the forum with spam. Another reason is to encourage a safe environment that promotes sharing tips and helps our members. We try to discourage factors that end up clouding that sound advice from prejudiced goals of selling products or services.

Our forum has seen a recent influx of members advertising in posts lately. Our seasoned Moderators mention that this seasonably increases as the holidays get near...

We also have policies on our Classified Section. This section is a privilege of active membership. We limit that to members that have over 25 posts, to sell their own personal items, not to facilitate commercial activities..

There is a section for advertising by certain memberships statuses. This section is the Vendor Announcement Section. Threads there can be started by Vendor and Company Rep Members. Commercial advertising is only allowed in that section by those types of members. If you would like to advertise in that area, we can direct you to the channels to become a commercial type member.

We are seeing an increase in advertising and the posting of links for profit, which may be just the seasonal influx.... The Moderation Staff has decided it is that time of year to remind members that this is a violation of our policy.

98% of our membership does not infringe upon this. If you had wondered why we change some posts, this may be why. If you post a link in your post or signature and your post gets flagged by the system... this may be why. If you get a PM from one of us asking you about it... You get the idea.
