Default Post Didn't Show Up

Morning y'all,
I typed a rather lengthy post complete with pictures last night and pushed the submit button. It never showed up on the forum. Should I try again, or will it show later?

No, I'm pretty sure it's gone. I was having problems with failing posts for a while and I got into the habit of copying so I could paste them to a retry if they failed. I've seen someone (Stick I think) suggest a few keystrokes that can recover it but I don't remember them.

Someone I consider a master woodworker once told me that a master woodworker is not someone who never makes mistakes. He is someone who is able to cover them up so that no one can tell.

Thanks. I think I'll give Stick a little while to get up and get his morning coffee. Maybe he'll see my post and tell me the secret. I really don't know if I can remember everything I said, but it was profound I'm sure! (not)

Ctrl + Z sometimes...

I've been losing a post every so often too and it's a hit or miss recovery...
but the log in screen often is getting a bit old...

This would have been the week that I'd have finished chewing thru the restraints...

If I have a long post I type it in a text editor first and then cut and paste it into the forum post. That way if it fails I still have a copy and it also gives me a chance to do better editing so I don't look like a complete idiot (still an idiot, but only partially).

Plan ''B''

to left of of the URL address bar is an arrow pointing to the left...
right click on that and select a message window you were at...
or left click on the arrow once/twice or how ever many times you need to to back up to your reply window...
again, this is a hit or miss deal...

if you haven't closed your browser since the failed post you may still be able to "back up"...
then again if your "history" isn't self cleaning or you aren't using private browsing you still have a "shot" at recovery...

I seem to be having this problem all the time, to the extent that I have not been able to post a new message for a day or so. When I hit the submit button, it looks like it is going to post my message, but then it just hangs there. I've tried two different browsers and they both do the same thing. I'm wondering if this is a site problem. I seem to be able to reply to others' posts, but not start new ones.

I also shut down my computer with a cold start and that did not fix the problem. It did seem to help one other time when I did this.
