Default Political Ads

Logged in as a forum member, I'm seeing poilitical ads from my dirt bag US Representative from PA 5th District. Now, the forum can do as they wish, but as long as you're being a front for this politician, you don't have to worry about me being a participant on your forum.

Thrifty... EVEN after you have logged in??? I don't see any ads after logging in...

I logged out, surfed a bit, and there were plenty of ads...did not run across anything political, but thats not to say you didnt.

logged back in, and came across no ads.

Cricket monitors this sub-forum pretty regularly, But I'll drop a note in the board room for her as well

I have never seen political either . I have been getting ads and I think some of them are places where I visited like Incra. Maybe there's some software that inserts them in as I heard there are no ads here yet?
Right now I have a Dodge banner and a Deville technologies ad in another spot . Neither places I have visited though. I am using an iPad . Cleaning cookies and history does not help if I remember correctly

I don’t always insulate , but when I do .
Ok ,I never insulate

I believe browser settings cause that...
if you have google/chrome/MS go th the bottom of the page.. click on settings/preferences and tailor them to your liking... set up for ''private browsing'' whenever possible...

FF here also...
go into your control panel... find internet settings and read everything and set things the way you believe they should be to encourage your privacy FWTW...
also go to programs/features and turn off IE/google/chrome and what ever else you don't want so that they don't function in the background...

I primarily use Chrome or Safari. I have AdBlock installed and I see no ads right now but AdBlock says 4 ads are blocked. I have have never seen an ad from my Downton Abby themed office self-important empty suit empty head representative or any other politician or any one "wanting to meet me" cure ED, or anything else for that matter while on RouterForums.

We don't allow posts of a political nature so I would also be surprised if it originated from our admin. Like others I suspect it is some other cause. I went looking for a Fluke brand infrared heat gun a while back and now half the sites I surf to wind up with a Fluke heat gun ad on them. Maybe dumping all your "cookies " might stop it.

Someone I consider a master woodworker once told me that a master woodworker is not someone who never makes mistakes. He is someone who is able to cover them up so that no one can tell.
