Default I Found The Blasted Thing

This is Sunday evening April 19. I hunted since the first day for how to start a new thead on the new format, I hunted for it every day day for several minutes each day, I finally asked Twoskies for help and he directed me to the place to start this thread.

Juat have to wonder "how in the dickes" did everybody else know where to look, why was it so elusive. Does a "computer nurd" just know such things by some sixth sense?

Had nothing to do with the way my computer is set up, just had no way to know where to look until it was explained to me. I'd have never found it in a hundred years with my limited understanding of computers, I suspect that such things are part of the curriculum that is covered in the second year or so one's degree in computer science, I never did try to get my degree in computer science. (just kidding)

But thank goodness, we have people that have folks to ask that will cheerfuly give help when needed, thanks Toskies.

Aren't upgrades fun! There just trying to keep you on your toes and your mind sharp Jerry

I used the bottom left tab and put the site to classic mode , which I had to ask about as I didn't know about it .
Then when I scroll to the top and click on the banner Routerforum.com , it brings out all the different Topics like in the old days . When you click on "table routing" for instance , I see there's "start new thread" at the top of the threads . Not sure if your doing it the same way ?

I don’t always insulate , but when I do .
Ok ,I never insulate

I refer to all "upgrades" as "regrades".
All that familiar lay of the land is no longer familiar after the regrade bulldozer comes through.

I like the upgrades and new design because it is like working a new crossword puzzle and takes some doing to figure it out and it feels like a small accomplishment when you do. I somehow happened on the new thread starter button recently and was excited....but I think it is a moving target...and now I cannot find it again.

I am not certain why people are having trouble finding the button to start new threads so it will help me out if you explain to me how you navigate the forum.

If it helps you, save the forum page to your bookmarks (favorites). That is the page that lists all of the different forums in the community - the layout is most like your old front page. It can be found by clicking on "forums" at the top of each page. http://www.routerforums.com/forum.php

Each forum has a "post new thread" but near the top left corner.

Cricket,

You just have to understand the reality that a few people, maybe only one person, myself in this case, just didn't understand and had to ask. I purposely asked Twoskies to not tell me what to do as I was enjoying the search for several days. Of course it's so simple when you understand. I apparently just had a mental block. Harry was quick to politely imply that. I suspect that he was not the only one that was shaking their head about my problem.

I am probably the only one that still thinks that the up grade was unnecessary, but that thinking is only the way I see it, and the positive responses by the majority of the members is evidence that you made a good move and that is what counts.

Now that I'm catching on, things are looking better. Don't waste your time wondering about this old man that just is not computer savvy.

I don't use Facebook or Twitter due to my computer ignorance. I do take pride in my knowledge of other subjects in life. I do not consider myself to be less than of average intelligence. I understand that intelligence and ignorance are not the same thing. My problem with the new look is due to ignorance, not my lack intelligence. I am saying this in defense of myself, not that it is really necessary to do so, but it does seem to me that maybe I might need to do so.

Thank you for your attempt to be of help to me.

Jerry, and anyone else for that manner, please consider me another source if you have trouble and want to keep your inquisition private. I'm not a vBulletin expert, but I have a natural feel for computers and software. Just as important, I work from home and I'm on this thing nearly all day. Just give me a message and I'll help out if I can.
