Exclamation New Version! - Whats new?

Well, last night we updated the forum to the newest vBulletin verison. With this version comes a crap load of new functionality!

This post will cover ALL that

Tags

FAQ Article: http://www.routerforums.com/forum-he...what-tags.html

When creating and viewing a thread you'll see something called "Tags", these are attached to each thread and are basically "keywords" to threads. This will help improve the RouterForums.com search index. Remember, Tags are optional, if you do not understand it, leave it black, not a problem at all

More information on tags below:

New Profile Style

There is a completely new look to the member profile:

View here: http://www.routerforums.com/members/mark-1.html

As you can see many things are changed.

New Profile - Visitor Messages

You can leave public messages in each other profiles, simply post your comment and you're good to go! Just like posts, you can easily report comments which contain crude content, simply click the "Report" link which will be in the bottom right corner of the comment.

New Profile - Friends

FAQ Article: http://www.routerforums.com/forum-he...-contacts.html

You can now setup and maintain your own friends list, which will appear to the left of your profile. If you want to be friends with someone, simply click their profile link and click "Befriend Username"

To check if you have any friends requests, goto your "Account Settings" page, and click "Contacts and Friends".

Scroll down until you see "Incoming Friends Requests". You will see the user's name and their avatar. If you wish to accept their friends request, simply click the checkbox in the top right corner of their avatar. and make sure "Accept selected friend requests" is selected and click "Save Changes".

If you wish to REMOVE the request, simply do the same but select the "Reject selected friend requests" then click "Save Changes".

New Profile - Customization

FAQ Article: http://www.routerforums.com/forum-he...omization.html

For the more advanced users, you can entirely customize your profile to make it look how you want it to look!

I'm not going to go in depth on this one because, I don't believe many people will be doing it. It's really just a whistle, doesn't offer anything.

Click below to view the profile customization page

----------------

That's it!

There are a couple other minor things, but those are the major!

Enjoy the new features. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to post them here.

Thanks, Mark
