Sorry to hear about your dad Garrett. The closest standard profile to what you showed is a shaker style door. The Shakers were more about function that style and they kept their designs very simple but they still have a strong following despite there being almost none of them left. They didn't have plywood to make panels from when they first got going and making a thin panel by laminating boards together would have been too fragile so they raised the panel with a simple chamfer at the edges and then put that side to the inside which left a flat smooth panel facing out.
