Default Router to mounting plate

I have a Oak Park mounting plate. I bought the Brass Centering Disk but did not know about the Brass safety Guide Pin. Is there anything else I can use in place of the safety guide pin or must I order one and wait for delivery before I can use my Table.

Thanks

HI oldfolks

Go to the hardware store and pickup a BRASS bolt cut the head and some of the thread off and you have one you can use or buy a stick of brass rod, it comes in 12" long or longer pieces ,cut off what you need and keep the rest for other jobs....don't cheat and use steel ,you want brass or Alum.will do the trick also.

I will say I'm not a big fan of the push in type, the OP type is a push in type, the pin size is 3/16" in diam.it just takes a min.to tap the hole out to 1/4-20, then the screw you picked up will just screw right in place and will not fall out when you use it for a start pin
