Default Incra LS Positioner-17" Or 24" Version

I've decided to go the stand alone router table option. I am considering Incra's LS router fence series. I am a bit limited on space so I my concern is that if I purchase the 24" LS positioner, my router table will begin to push the 42-48" wide range, where as the with the 17" LS version, it will be somewhat shorter, but I might regret not having the extra capacity later on when a project might arise where I might need this capacity.

I'm looking for advise/opinion on the 17" version versus the 24" version.

Thank you,

Eric J. Commarato

Eric I have a Woodpecker router table and I just don't think I would benifit from a LS positioner. On the other hand I could use one for my table saw but I more than likely will not buy one.

Measure once cut twice and it's still to short.

Eric--I have the 17" on one table, then a few years ago got a great deal on a 25" with the 43" Incra table top. Don't think I've ever exceeded the 17" limit, but will tell you that in practical terms the two tables have close enough to the same footprint by the time it's all said & done. If I had to replace the 25" with another 17", i'd not miss the extra. But...I don't do a lot of cabinets so being able to reach the center of a sheet of plywood is just not something I do.

Thanks Earl, I'm still not really sure what to do, the 24" is only $30 bucks more than the 17", but like I mentioned I would like to keep things a bit more compact. I appreciate your comments.

Thanks again, Eric
