Default My router table top

Hi there,
This is my first ports on the forum. I am new to woodworking, working on my first project which will be a ‘build in’ wall unit with raised panel doors (if possible). Before I can start the doors I realized I needed a router table, so I made a 32x24 out of 2 layers of MD. Yesterday I received the insert plate, so I spend most of Saturday working on the table top, and finally at the end of the day I was able to make my first test cut. Next I think I will build a cabinet for the top.

Hi Jesper and welcome to the forum. You say you are new to woodworking, but from the looks of the pictures you posted, I would say you will be in the advanced stages in another day or 2.

Glad to have you with us and we hope you will keep the pictures coming as you complete the remainder of your router table cabinet.

Holy smoke! If thats your first attempt at making a router table you sure are on the right track!

The only thing lacking is dust collection!

What have you mounted the top on?

Looking great so far!

I have made some super slow progress on the router table. I spend Sunday afternoon and an hour last night to build the carcass. Next is to start on the drawers, but I think might have gotten myself in to trouble because I didn’t install the drawer gliders for the narrow drawers before gluing up the carcass, oh well, I will just have to figure out something.

My goodness, That is great for a 1st project. Do you have a job that helps you along with the plans and structure. Mine still doesn't look that good!

great work on the fence and the, arr well on every thing. just a brain fart i made my draws as inserts to go into the cabinet for my draws that way i can pull the whole draw when i go over to a mates place to use his speed controlled router, that way i dont have to take loose bits and thay are in the draws. as well i can count the missing ones befor i go home - he has light light fingers - just a joke between the two of us.
