Default Dovetail jigs

Well over the past few years I had friends and family buy woodworking tools and supplies either online or garage sales for my birthday and as christmas presents. Well 2 of them are dovetail jigs. One a E-Z Pro Dovetailer II Dovetail Jig my wife bought for me brand new for one of my birthdays and the other my wife got at a garage sale a Wolfcraft dovetail jig.

Well today being in between projects I decided to mess with the general ez pro and see how well it does. I had some small scraps of pine and made some dovetails. They turn out alright good enough to make some drawers and maybe a box or 2 and it was pretty easy to use on my router table. When the first of the month hits I am going to get some more regular 1"x6" pine and tweak the ez pro a little more for the best dovetail joints plus I am going to try the Wolfcraft dovetail jig since it came with a full set of instructions.

I'm now a fan of the Katie Jig from Sommerfeld, which is about the same as the Leigh. I've found this easier to use than the Porter Cable type, and the Katie has the ability to create your own spacing with extra forks you set manually. The new version has a new name, but interchangeable parts and accessories.

I would like to sell my Rockler version of the Porter Cable jig since I just don't use it. All repacked neatly into its shipping carton, along with a dust collection attachment and instruction book.

PM me if interested.

LOL I have the rockler already and it does alright to. I mainly wanted to see if I can do dovetails on projects that are bigger like a chest or something. I use to cut dovetails by hand when I was a young lad But since my stroke a few years ago plus with bursitis in my shoulder joints it just hard to do now by hand.

That katie jig looks pretty good but right now paying off my 13 inch planer then get a jointer then a drill press or instead of drill press a bigger bandsaw to replace my 9 inch.
