Default My fence sucks!

It really does. This hollow square fence grips the table just with suction from the vac extractor. It works well too.

If you would disconnect that pipe thing at the one end, it wouldn't suck so much!! Good job on the fence, I will need to redo mine some day but not today, it just isn't what I wanted it to be, all in good time.

Polished and waxed. I got a set of near matching red featherboards. I made a template/jig to hold them. I don't have a T-slot in the table. I drilled 5 blind holes and glued in some punched rubber discs, to add a little grip in use.

I will post a pic later. It is just a semi circle cutout, that has a 45 degree bevel cut on the inside edge, to eliminate the step and encourage air flow.

Default Im dense

Ok I only see the port at the bit, judging by its size ( fence ) it weighs alot. So are you saying the vaccum thru that center hole keeps the fence from moving. I thought you would have a series of holes running the entire length.

Thank You Veterans

Although the fence sticks to the table, it could pivot around the cutout. I have 3 clamps holding it to the table, as well as the suction. I would not trust suction alone on this. I have a Trend vacuum routing station that works. There was a TV program 2 weeks ago on the BBC. Where the presenter cobbled together a device that enabled him to climb a smooth aluminium clad building with 2 vacuum cleaner powered hand suction pads.
