Default collett sticks to nut on Freud 2200

Hi Ho: I appears that changing from 1/2 to 1/4 inch colletts is not an easy thing to do with the Freud 2200. There is a notch that makes the collett stick in the nut. I finally used 6 screwdrivers to compress the collett so it could be removed.

Is there a better way?

Hi Dirk,

It might be best if you contacted CharlesM. He's a fellow member here and works for Freud. I'm sure he can give you the help needed.

With my Ridgid the nut and the collett are one unit. Each collett has a nut with it and you do not change the nuts back a forth.

Hi Ho: Now that makes sense. In this case a 1/4 inch collett was supplied without a nut. Maybe I'll have to just get another nut. Thanks for the info.
