Default By Pass Soft Start?

I just bought a used PC 3 1/4 router to mount under my table. I got this one because it is a single speed and I THOUGHT I could just mount an external speed controller to it. My table has dust collection so this would have been far more convenient than reaching popping the whole lifter out of the table to change the speed.
Anyway I bought a speed controller only to learn that you can't use it with soft start. Has anyone ever just taken the soft start circuit out of their router?

Hi Craig:

Welcome to the forum.

One suggestion is to contact the manufacturer and ask them. They might be able to offer a solution that won't void the warranty.
