Default top material?

Hello,
I am looking to upgrade the router table in my shop. I have a 7539 PC 3-1/4 hp plunge router and a Bosch 1617EVS with fixed base and plunge that work well. I am considering the Bench Dog cast iron top with the Rockler FX lift for the Bosch 1617 router. I would be interested in using the PC 7539 if I can find a reasonable priced lift. Not sure I need the extra HP. Most cutting will be hardwoods. Has anyone bought the cast iron top? If so how was the surface finish?

See my gallery for a router table I built with the Bench Dog cast iron top (the blue one). The surface finish is very good on the top. About the same as a Delta table saw top. Also in my gallery is a picture of the Bench Dog cast iron router table saw extension wing mounted on my Unisaw. Both have Bench Dog prolifts mounted in them.
