teardly,

You'll need to indicate your approximate budget before others can make recommendations.

Its a lot like buying a car... "quality" is defined as the best you can get for a certain price. Some would say a 5 yo Toyota Corolla.. while for others only a new six-digit priced tag car will do.

A router with table, fence, etc. can range from free to $2K or more.

Check out that new high-tech cordless router.. wireless and no recharging required!!

Welcome to the forums Tom. What do you plan to make with this router table? What kind of work will you be doing?

Would like to keep it around $500. but would go higher if necessary, topping out at 1K.

Hello Tom.. welcome to the forum....

If ya got the skills, and are willing to go up to 1K, dude, DUDE, you can build yourself one heck of a nice table/cabinet combo. Or for a couple hundred, you can have a fully functional table and fence clamped to a couple of saw horses.

Check out this thread:

http://www.routerforums.com/table-mo...our-table.html

This should get the ole wheels a turnin"..Alot of great ideas in that thread...

Here is a thread with my own personal adventure building a table..

http://www.routerforums.com/table-mo...ble-setup.html

research, research, shop around, ask questions and then have at it..
