Question Craftsman Router

I got this 2hp router off a friend for $20.00. Plugged it in and it works.
My concern is it has a 1/4" collet and no way to change it out to 1/2". Is this a ok beginner router for now or should I just go out and buy a bosch or PC dual base router which I will probably do in the future.
second question : is the oak park bench top router table as good as the bench dog pro?

Thanks for your quick reply. I see the oak park is on sale so I will probably get it.

The OP table is an excellent all-around table IMHO.

I agree with Bj about the router though. Gotta start somewhere. In time, you'll be upgrading and be like most, lose count of how many routers you have.
