Default Jessem Master Fence

I am considering buying the Jessem Master fence for my table. I like the idea of the sliding scales as I think it could make set up a little easier. Does anyone have any advise on this?

I have the JessEm master fence on my JessEm table. I researched the heck out of fences (both higher & lower price) when I purchased it a couple years ago. I really do like the sliding scales, and it makes setup very easy.

Arggh... I can't edit my prior post until I hit 10 posts... Well, I guess this helps me hit 10 then...

Two other quick points. The dust collection on the back of the fence works awesome. As long as I'm using a tight insert on the plate, I get next to zero chips below the fence. Nearly everything is sucked up through the fence DC.

One thing I use a lot, and I'm not a big fan of the set up is with using the shims on the fence for edging a board. In order to insert the shims, you need to completely take off the bolts holding the fence face on, insert the shims, and then re-bolt the fence face back on. I've seen some slide in type shims on other fences, by only loosening the bolts. It's not horrible, it just takes up setup time.

Thanks for the information and advise. I have a Jessem table with a home built fence but set up is somewhat awkward. I was on the Jessem site and found that the newest version of the fence has an auxiliary fence offsetting setup that appears to use a wedge instead of a flat shim.
I have been pleased with the quality of Jessem products and would expect that the fence will be a great porduct.
