Default New Poster- TS- New Router/Lift/Plate ?'s

Hi everyone... I think this will be my first post here...

Looking at adding a router table wing to my Ridgid R4511 saw. Leaning on using a piece of formica covered counter top from Lowes for $24 that matches the granite look of the table saw. Now thinking about a router plate and lift. I currently have a 2 HP Craftsman #17542 that I use for a dedicated mounted router. I'd like above table adjusting... Any thoughts of getting the most bang for your buck on a plate and lift? Is a Triton router with lift included the way to go? If so, what is a good plate to use with the router?

Sorry about so many questions!! Just needing someone smarter than me to get me headed in the right direction. I appreciate your thoughts!!

There have been many different discussions about router lifts. You might be able to find some by just looking at the various thread topics or using the search option.

I do think that what you have planned will look nice. I wish I had that saw you have. None of the stores around here never seemed to have any in stock once the price started dropping on them. I would hear of people in other cities still finding them but no luck when I would search the stores up here and or even call some to check.

Apparently the saw is on its way back. Apparently you can order them from Ridgid for delivery at Home Depot for around $600. A tad higher than the $299 they were being clearanced for... Thanks for your reply

Too late for me as I am finally getting my brand new contractor style craftsman saw replaced this Thursday after almost a month of trying to deal with Sears and getting the run around from one department to another (or should say my Wife did it as I wouldn't have been as nice on the phone).

Massive (to me who only has had benchtop saws, no matter how large the last one was) cast iron thing weighing 265lbs...which I suppose is less than that rigid granite top.
