Default Harbor Freight as second table

Howdy folks,

I'm a Musician & luthier. I mainly repair double basses & cellos. My primary gig has been playing bass...for 30 years. I'm tired, and business sucks. I'm Going after my lifelong dream of building electric basses, speaker cabs & some custom furniture, and I'm starting right off with production runs. I already have multiple sanders & band saws etc..., so why not multiple Router tables, because production speed will be the key to any financial success. As a second table, I'm considering the Harbor Freight aluminum table. Of course I'm cautious, as it is, after all, Harbor Freight. I have, however, had luck with a couple of their tools.

Anybody have experience with this table? I could go Rockler or Kreg etc.., but at $159, with a 43" steel stand and an aluminum (no sag) table, I'm very curious.

Welcome to the forum.

I don't know about the HF router tables, but I have been satisfied with most of my purchases from there.

Greetings and welcome to the router forum. We are pleased you have chosen to join with us. Why not just two inserts? Use same table, just swap out routers already set up on individual table inserts? If you have the router, spend 20.00-30.00 for the insert. Would save money till you know just what you are after.

Is this the one you are thinking of - Harbor Freight Tools - Quality Tools at the Lowest Prices ? I always think that 1hp is too low for a router table, but I think this is more of a shaper table and maybe they don't need as much hp since the bits are normally running slower.

If you have a Harbor Freight store near you I am told that they will price match the online prices if you bring a print out which would save you the shipping, plus there are several 20% off coupons in various magazines for the stores. Slickdeals.com has a large thread on it with a wiki that keeps updated links to the coupons and fliers. They take printed versions or the ones torn out the magazine like they are the same as long as the home printed one is large enough to scan the barcode.
