Default Triton 3 1/4 Router

OK, ready to pull the trigger on the Triton. Found out that they are now including an above table crank for the 3 1/4 hp like they had on the 2 1/4 unit... great!! Ready to buy, but now I've been told that they are all sold out and the new routers won't be available for approximately 1 month. Sigh!! I see they have some on Amazon, but I wonder if they are the older units without the crank... Any thoughts?

I have the newer Trition 3 1/4 with above table crank and really like it.

Have you tried Woodcraft? If order via Amazon -- just specify that it will have the crank!!

Near but not too near Springfield

Thanks Paul... I had been talking with a really nice guy named Keith from the distributor HTC, he explained that the 3 1/4 now included the crank. He gave me a local location that was supposed to have them on stock, after finding out that they didn't, I called HTC back and talked with a very curt woman (Keith was gone for the day) who told me that "NO ONE HAS THE ROUTER" and all the routers would be shipped in one month... I told her that Amazon showed they had the router, but she acted like I was a complete moron and repeated slowly... "NO ONE HAS THE ROUTER"... SIGH. But, you were right, just ordered one with a crank from Woodcraft $269 and free shipping and it includes the crank. Amazon shows 4 on hand... but I don't know if they are the new ones with the crank or not...

Does anyone have this router in the Benchdog Cast Iron top? There is a deal on it and I am going to pull the trigger. The triton sounds great you wont have to use a lift with it. Not sure on the mounting of the BenchDog though but with the correct plate it should work.

I have the new 3-1/4hp router with adjuster in a table & it works great. It replaced a Triton 2-1/4hp I bought because back then the 3-1/4hp router had no winder option yet. I bought both Tritons from Sommerfeld Tools at the woodworking shows here in CA. They carry plenty with them from show to show.

The Triton is a good table router. You would have to have a hole drilled in the top for the above table winder handle.
