Default Porter Cable Model 4212

Hey Everyone-
Anyone spent any time using this dovetail jig? I've wanted to use dovetail joinery for some time but just was never really sure which jig to aim for. A jewelry box for my daughter and new drawers for the kitchen... stuff like that. Bang for my buck is this the one to get or should I save and wait for one of the omni-jigs?

I use this jig & you can do many projects with it. I use it for half-blind dovetails for drawers all the time.

Hi Ho: I like the jig, but you would probably need the 4215 accessory template and bit (about $60) because the 4212 by itself will only work on fronts 1/2 inch or thicker. Even 1/2 inch plywood doesn't work very well because it is of course less than 1/2 inch.

The jig is very convenient for half-blind dovetails because you route both parts at the same time. The first time I tryed it I made a perfect joint in about a half hour on the first try, so it can't be too hard to use.
