Default Space Balls

Using those space balls is a real problem with multiple panel glue-ups. First of all they don't stay in because they're round and they're too hard. Do they have something that's easier to use and stay put in the groove ? I was going to try some small round foam weatherstripping - just small pieces here and there.

Henry, try gluing them in place with rubber cement. Another option would be a dab of silicone, allow it to set up before assembly.

Hi Henry

Use the Panelign-Strips they will stay in place, unlike the nasty little space balls..

OR

You can make your own with the 1/4" x 1/4" weather stripping, you can get it from the auto parts store/HD/Lowes/hardware store ..in a big roll..and cut it up with a razor blade..1/4" x 1" @ long..

200ct. Panelign Strips-Sommerfeld's Tools For Wood
200 for 5.50..

Hi Henry

I was running a bit low so I said how about some more for my backup stock of them.. just for kicks

Here's a little show and tell, showing how easy you can make your own in about 1 hour of your time, you will get about 200 out of a 17 ft.long roll, they are a little bit better than the Sommerfeld ones they have the sticky backing on them, they will stick in place and will not fall out at the glue up time for the doors...

When I saw the router, I thought you were going to show how to use a round-over bit on the foam strips to make balls.

Those foam strips are exactly what I was thinking and should have used. Those stupid space balls caused me alot of trouble and time AND they're way too hard. Thanks for the great suggestions.
