Default New router table & new member

Hi guys (meant coed-ly),
I just bought a new router table yesterday so I thought I should join this forum so I can learn how to use it. It is the Craftex CT097 with Cast aluminum back table with a sliding front table. First thing I have to do is learn how to assemble it!
I just started woodworking about two years ago. I am disabled due to a spine injury so this hobby gets me off the couch once in awhile. I can only work on a project for about an hour at a time so it takes a long time to finish anything.
Two projects that i am particularly proud of are 70 hymnal shelves (they attach to the back of the pews to hold the books) for my Dad's church, and a an oak container for food bank donations at a local church. It feels good to volunteer and maybe will give me a few brownie points with the Guy Upstairs.
I want to build a cherry blanket box for one of my daughters next.
Nice to meet you all, Ron

Welcome to the forum. I would be interested in seeing that table since I have not heard of that one, not that I've of all of them.

Default Craftex CT097 table adjustment

I acquired the Craftex CT097 router table, with sliding table section. It works fine with Makita router. The one issue I have is with the relative height of the main (cast iron) table and the slide table, as there is a difference that runs about 0.020" to 0.060" between the two. I have used shims to get it closer, but I am wondering if others found this problem, and if there are better fixes.

Thanks, and cheers,
- charles
