Default Router table top

Hi , this is my first post on this forum. I have just bought an LS incra fence and I need a new router table top but I intend to make it myself. Is corian a suitable material to use ?

If it is flat, I think it would be a great table top material. Hard wearing, easy to keep clran, tough enough, and slippy. Easy to drill and machine.

I will post details of working with corian as a table top if I can buy some reasonably priced off-cuts.

Appologies I should have introduced myself first. My name is Alastair, I must be the only Scottish Gaelic speaker in Dorset England but as the Dorset accent is almost impossible to understand at the best of times, I may be one of many. I live in Bridport on the coast and I have been turning pens for about five years. I only use timber that grows in the UK (and Bog Oak) and I like to use wood from garden shrubs etc. I look forward to some intersting threads. Alastair
