Default best router and table

I am thinking of a Bosch1617evspk router, Is it good or should I re-think. I am also looking at a Bosch ra1181 table. I really don't know what to do about the table, there is too much conflicting info. out there about tables.

Hi Mike - Welcome to the forum
I think you just posed the old question of "which is better, the red ford or the blue chevy" Conflicting information is likely because everyone has different goals and ideas. The combination you picked is decent quality and many here have just that setup. Mostly depends on your own skill level and objectives, you can turn a lot of nice projects out with that setup but is, in my opinion anyway, a bit small for larger projects as living room suites or bedroom vanities. The router would be fine, but the table would be a bit awkward to handle large pieces on safely. You may also want to look into a router that allows above table height adjustments and bit changes. Many offer that now, I'm just not sure that particular Bosch does.
Here's a link to a thread under the "Table mounted routing" forum on this site. A LOT of photos of different members tables, most shop made. It may give you some ideas. If you see something that interests you or you have a question about a function or the reasoning behind a configuration, feel free to post questions. Most are justifiably proud of their creations and are more than willing to share any information.
Once again, welcome to the forum.

The problem with experience is I usually get it immediately after I need it.
