Default Help lift problem

Need help with Rockler lift problem. I just bought a new router table with lift combo from Rockler. I have a rigid 2903 combo but am having trouble fitting it in the lift. What am I doing wrong or do you have suggestions. I am basically a novice when it comes to the router.

Hi Lee - Welcome to the forum
I'm afraid you will need to be a bit more specific. Just exactly what is or isn't happening? Picture would be good, you don't need 10 posts to post those.

John Schaben

The problem with experience is I usually get it immediately after I need it.

I tried to insert the motor in the lift but the motor is about 1/16th too big. I do not know what I am doing wrong as the lift is supposed to be for the Porter Cable 690 which is close to the Rigid. I have released the clamp but still the motor will not go between the clamps. I feel like I have missed a step. By the way I took the motor out of the plunge so it is just the motor.

correction to last post. It should read 1/16th inch too big. I was trying to slip it in between the clamps. I cannot figure what I am doing wrong. I have the release open. Is there a way of opening it wider?

If it's the Router lift fx that you have, your router is not listed as one to be used with it.

The Router Lift FX Plus accepts the following routers: Porter-Cable 690/890 series, Bosch 1617-16-18, DeWalt* 610, 616, 618.

Gav - pretty much answered your question. On the up side, I'm pretty sure that router doesn't need a lift anyway. Look at the bottom of both bases carefully. I believe one of them, if not both, will have a hex fitting on the bottom of the height adjustment rod. If so, all you need to do is put an extra access hole in the plate to get to it and you have above table adjustment. Just return the lift and get your money back

I have the Ridgid router and the fixed base has a built in lift. It works great.
