Default New router cabinet ventalation ?

I'm in the middle of building my first router table. Previous was in table saw extention table. That said I want to know how to determine how much open vent area I need in the table for good dust colection and proper cooling of router The cavity it will be housed in is 23" deep 17" high and 15 1/2" wide. Elu 3339 router hung with a Unilift 4" dust collection on lowest area of back panel. Do the vent's need to be in the front or could they also be on the back of the cabinet ? The sides are not an option as the compartment is flanked with drawers on both sides.
Thanks
Tim

Hi Tim,
I would mount them in front for good crossflow in the space.

I would be inclined to put them in front as well. I would equal, or approximate the draw to be the same as the exhaust. So if you have a four inch hole in the back, I would make the vents up front roughly the same in area up front. If you have an access door you can experiment before you drill. Throw a few handfuls of sawdust in the router compartment and crack the door a couple inches and then turn on the DC and see what happens. Try this a few times to see what works best. It really isn't that critical or scientific. If your in the ballpark... it will work. Good luck!
