Here are the steps to correct your issue:

1. Install a 1/4" Spiral Upcut Bit in your plunge router
2. Zero out the depth of the bit by keeping router flat on your bench, and then plunging the bit so it just touches the bit.
3. Set the depth adjustment lever to the desired height.
4. Raise the bit back up
5. Plug the router in , and power it on
6. Using multiple passes make your cut, plunging the bit further and further into the work piece until the depth adjustment stops you
7. Power of the router and unplug
8. Go to your computer and log in to Internet if not already on
9. Open up your favorite browser to Google
10. Enter a search for IP Route and press the Google Search button
11. Pick any of the numerous sites that have the relevant information you are looking for, as you are currently on a woodworking website.
